Gillian Traynor
Gillian TraynorData Protection Consultant
Gillian is a Certified Data Protection Practitioner (CDPP) and graduated from DCU with an Honours Degree in Marketing and also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Marketing. Gillian is a business professional with over 2 decades’ experience working in eCommerce, Compliance, Technical Support and Customer Services. Gillian focuses on improving clients’ data protection compliance whilst also streamlining their business processes. She understands the intricacies of business, having worked in industry for 20 years and offers clients pragmatic GDPR, ePrivacy and data protection advice and solutions based on individual operational requirements. Gillian is a member of the Irish Computer Society and the Association of Data Protection Officers.
Damien Traynor
Damien TraynorManaging Director
Damien founded Ambit Compliance in response to the demand from clients for an independent consultancy service which focused solely on data protection and ePrivacy. Damien is a business professional with over 20 years’ experience and holds a Master of Science Degree in Business and Management Practice from UCD. Damien has a track record of achieving positive outcomes, including significant increases in cost efficiency, service quality, customer satisfaction and overall business growth. He has worked with both the public and private sectors with industry-leading organisations from Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Education, Retail, Commercial, ICT, Leisure, Tourism and Financial Services.
Claire Deasy
Claire DeasyData Protection Consultant
Claire is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E), Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) and holds a degree in Business Management (BSc) from DIT and a Masters in Finance from UCD Smurfit Business School.
Claire is an experienced operations manager with over 13 years’ experience in financial services in the areas of compliance, customer service, change management and process design.

Amanda Madden
Amanda MaddenData Protection Specialist
Amanda is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPPE), Certified Data Protection Practitioner (CDPP), and has completed the European Data Protection Officers Course (ECDPO) . She also holds a Certificate in Data Protection Practice from the Law Society of Ireland and a a BSc (management) degree from DIT. In addition she has a post graduate diploma in e-commerce from the National College of Ireland and a MMII graduateship in marketing from the Marketing Institute of Ireland. Amanda is a business professional, experienced in the areas of compliance, project management, marketing & operations. For over two decades Amanda has worked in the following sectors: PR & marketing, healthcare, energy, publishing & retail.
Jim O'Sullivan
Jim O'SullivanData Protection and Governance Consultant
Jim holds a Masters in Economics from Trinity College Dublin and is a Qualified Accountant (FCMA, CGMA). He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Data Protection Law from the King’s Inns, , a Diploma in Corporate Governance from the Corporate Governance Institute and a Diploma in Leadership and Quality from RCPI. He has been a member of the Medical Council since 2018.
Jim has over 35 years’ experience working in the health services. During his time in the HSE he was Secretary to the Board where he led the establishment and embedding of new governance structures and most recently was Head of Data Protection and Data Protection Officer for HSE, one of Ireland’s largest data processors. As its first full time DPO, Jim developed a roadmap for the implementation of a Data Privacy and Governance Framework for the organisation. He also managed the HSE’s data protection programme in relation to COVID-19 Testing and Tracing, Vaccination and Digital Covid Certificates and led the HSE’s data protection response to the May 2021 large scale Cyber-attack.
Caoimhe McDaid
Caoimhe McDaidData Protection Consultant
CCaoimhe has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) Degree with French (LLB) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (LPC). Developing a keen interest in EU GDPR in 2018, Caoimhe specialised in the interpretation and implementation of the regulations while with the biggest employer in Northern Ireland, providing an expert DPO service and assisting with compliance and application of the regulations. Caoimhe has vast operational experience and a wealth of knowledge across various areas of law both domestically and internationally, ranging from Social Welfare Law to Corporate and Commercial Law.
Anastasia Kazankina
Anastasia KazankinaData Protection Specialist
Anastasia holds a Masters in Law from Kyiv National Economic University and is a qualified attorney-at-law in Ukraine. She also has a Masters in Intellectual Property Management and is currently studying Intellectual Property and Information Technology at Trinity College Dublin. She has more than 12 years consultancy experience and experience in representing clients’ interests in courts and before state bodies.
